Management Skills I: Foundations of Management
This program is designed for laboratory animal program managers and supervisors who wish to improve their leadership skills and for those who are preparing for the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) Foundations of Management (MSI) exam. Topics will include: the management process, entrepreneurs, managing diversity, ethical behavior and social responsibility, emotional intelligence, and effective communication.
The course will be held April 5-6, two days prior to the Texas Branch AALAS Meeting at the Embassy Suites, San Marcos, TX. The program hours are 8 AM to 5 PM both days.
The exam will be held on April 7th at 8 AM at the same location.

Preparing for the Animal Resources (AR) Exam.
This program is designed for laboratory animal program managers and supervisors who are preparing for the AR exam. Topics will include: regulations/policies/procedures, IACUC procedures and responsibilities, human resource management, GLP practices, and occupational health and safety.
The course will be held April 5-6, two days prior to the LAMA Meeting at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort, Clearwater, FL. The program hours are 1-6 PM on 4/5 and 8 AM to 5 PM on 4/6.
The exam will be held on April 7th at 8 AM at the same location. Note: Applications to sit for this exam must be submitted to AALAS by 3/1/10.
